What motivated the creation of Tixpire?
High-interest rates and strict credit standards have made it difficult for people to access capital that allows the opportunity to attend life-changing events including professional and business-related seminars, conferences, and even festivals.
What’s your favorite KPI and why?
Our favorite KPI is low rate of default. This means that our models are working, our business is healthy, and most importantly that our customers are making healthy financial decisions.
What’s a fond memory you have of overcoming an obstacle as an entrepreneur?
Overcoming every new obstacle brings a new level of confidence in building successful businesses. This could be hiring the company’s first team members, raising capital, and especially getting the company’s first real paying customers.
Which local businesses or individuals inspire you?
There are amazing businesses and individuals all over Austin including great brands, great health and wellness companies, marketing, tech, and even very inspiring medical practices. The most inspiring individuals are the ordinary people who constantly figure out how to lead their teams to accomplish extraordinary feats.
Where are your favorite networking spots?
The greatest networking spots are the ones I’ve always least expected. I’ve found my best friends and greatest business relationships by connecting with individuals while doing things that I like. The gym, live events, startup talks, alumni events, dance lessons, extreme sports, and of course during group learning opportunities like college courses and business/brand related courses.
What’s your favorite date spot in Austin?
My girlfriend, Dani, and I have found several unique date spots all over Austin that are remote and secret. We love grabbing food from Austin’s best restaurants, finding out-of-the-ordinary spots that give us a view of the city, and hanging out on the back of the tailgate.
